Please come and join us on the evening of Saturday 11th February at The Stithians Centre for a lively and entertaining talk on how to prepare the products from your hive for showing.
We’ve been extremely fortunate that Paul Boyle, the renowned International Honey Judge, has offered to come and inspire beekeepers from all over Cornwall to enter local, county and national honey shows. By talking about how to prepare our honey for showing, as well as many of the other classes, Paul will let us know what the judges are looking for and how we can best achieve winning entries.
Paul started beekeeping in County Louth in 2007 and started entering honey shows in 2008. In 2013 not only did he qualify as a Beemaster but he also achieved two first prizes in the National Honey Show in London. In 2015 he was offered a place on the Executive Council of the National Honey Show, the first Irish person in its illustrious history to to hold this post, and he is also the trade hall co-ordinator for the National Honey Show.

Paul qualified as an Irish Honey Judge in 2017, having completed the stringent honey judging exams. In 2019 he was accepted as an Apimondia Honey Judge and is currently the chairperson of Louth Beekeepers Association in Co.Louth.

An amazing fact about Paul is that he has entered and achieved first prize in every class in a honey show – yes, even the embroidery!
We are very fortunate to have someone of Paul’s experience and skill to come and share his knowledge with us FOR FREE!
The doors will be open at 7pm and the talk will start at 7.30pm prompt.
